Tewa Power Company Limited is a Kenya-based independent power producer established to develop geothermal power projects in the Menengai geothermal field in Nakuru County. The company was created as a special purpose vehicle backed by private investors including OrPower Twenty Two (Ormat Technologies) and other partners. Tewa Power was selected by the Geothermal Development Company (GDC) to develop one of the three private geothermal plants at Menengai. The project consists of a 35 MW geothermal power plant, expected to be supplied with steam from GDC’s geothermal wells.
