Gigawatt Global (GWG) is an American-owned Dutch company and impact-investment solar developer with a track record in frontier markets in Africa. GWG developed the 8.5 MW Rwamagana Solar Plant in Rwanda (2014), East Africa's first utility-scale grid-connected solar project. It also delivered the 7.5 MW Mubuga Solar Plant in Burundi (commissioned Q4 2017, +14% of national capacity). A 100 MW project in Nigeria was under development.
