A five-session live online course on engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts for the energy sector runs from 17 to 25 June 2026, with sessions from 11:00 to 15:00 GMT — a timing and virtual format that make it accessible to African energy professionals.

The course is delivered by InFocus International over five sessions; a second run is scheduled for 12 to 19 November 2026. CNBC Africa
EPC contracts are the principal procurement instrument for utility-scale power, renewables and oil-and-gas projects, governing risk allocation between owners, contractors and lenders, and are central to reaching financial close on African energy projects.

The course covers the legal framework of EPC arrangements, bankability and project-finance structuring, contract administration, claims and dispute resolution, and the management of contractors and subcontractors. CNBC Africa

The programme is pitched at a range of experience levels, from an introduction to EPC contract structure and the perspectives of owners, contractors and lenders, through to commercial and technical negotiation issues for experienced practitioners; course materials are provided electronically. The content is global rather than Africa-specific, though risk-allocation, bankability and dispute principles apply directly to the continent's IPP procurement, wheeling and project-finance arrangements.
