In Africa, ENGIE has 3,000 MW of centralised electricity capacity in service or under construction. Notable African assets include the 300 MW Tarfaya Wind Farm (Morocco), the 100 MW Kathu CSP (South Africa), and the 262.5 MW Ras Ghareb Wind Farm (Egypt). In 2023, ENGIE acquired the South African assets of BTE Renewables (ex-BioTherm Energy) from Actis for ~US$1 billion.
