The National Water and Electricity Company (NAWEC) is The Gambia's state-owned utility responsible for the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity as well as water supply across the country. The utility is pursuing a major renewable energy transition through solar PV projects and hybrid mini-grids to reduce dependence on costly diesel generation and improve reliability of supply. NAWEC was represented at Enlit Africa 2025.
