Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) is Ethiopia's state-owned enterprise responsible for electricity generation and transmission. The company manages Ethiopia's substantial hydropower resources including the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD, 5,150 MW), Gilgel Gibe III (1,870 MW) and numerous other hydro plants, making Ethiopia one of Africa's largest power producers. EEP also oversees the country's growing renewable energy portfolio including wind and solar projects and is developing Ethiopia into a major regional electricity exporter. EEP was represented at Enlit Africa 2025.
