The G3-Alliance is an international non-profit consortium of utilities, semiconductor companies and equipment manufacturers driving the standardisation of smart grid powerline communication (PLC) technology. The alliance develops and promotes G3-PLC and G3-Hybrid, open ITU standards enabling cost-effective, secure and long-range data communication over existing power line infrastructure for smart metering, grid automation and industrial IoT applications. With over 100 million G3 devices deployed across 30 countries and 100 member companies, G3-Alliance supports interoperability between devices from multiple vendors. The organisation was a Silver Sponsor at Enlit Africa 2025.
